A film directed by Tapio Snellman and produced by Anna Niemelä, about the ongoing transformation of a historic silo in northern Finland is currently under development.

The Finnish Film Foundation is supporting the film with a script-development grant. In their new initiative, Factum Foundation and Skene Catling de la Peña have acquired Alvar and Aino Aalto’s first industrial building, a cellulose silo in Oulu. It will be redeveloped into a creative research centre focused on the documentation of industrial buildings, on innovative technologies to record environmental change, and research into sustainable materials.
